James Andrew Klonica was initiated on September 1 and issued badge number 614. He is from Fort Wayne, IN and has family in Alexandria, LA. Because James was working in an engineering co-op program, he could not be initiated in the spring with his fall 2010 pledge class.

Official IFC numbers place Phi Psi’s fall pledge class in the top 5 at LSU along with Sig Ep, Sigma Nu, Sigma Chi, and Lambda Chi. The chapter projects that, for the second year in a row 40 new pledges, will be formally pledged on August 31st. Alumni are encouraged to attend. Chapter Passes Phi Kappa Psi Accreditation

Phi Kappa Psi announced today that the LSU chapter completed its Chapter Excellence Program, aka accreditation, successfully passing all eleven areas of the accreditation program.

Psi of the Tiger members-only BigTent Site: Psi of the Tiger is now using BigTent to manage our member list and events. Big Tent allows us to advertise events such as Homecoming Phestivities, sell tickets and collect payments via credit or debit card. The site also has networking features such as forums where members can list tailgating sites or discuss other topics. Members can create classified ads to advertise their services or sell items. PsioftheTiger.com will continue to be our “public” site. Big Tent will be our private site.
If we have your email address, EXPECT AN EMAIL NOTICATION about being added to the Psi of the Tiger BigTent group. This email includes a link to activate membership and obtain full access to the group. PLEASE JOIN to insure that you are notified of upcoming events. Membership with full access to all features is FREE. Your initial membership will expire on August 31st. You will have to option to renew your FREE membership, or if you want to help defray the costs of Psi of the Tiger, educational and leadership programs, recruitment, improvements to the house, etc., you can select one of four levels of paid membership. Note that FREE members get the same access as paid member; so pay only if you want to help out.

Spring 2011 Grades

Phi Psi ranked 8th academically out of the 23 LSU fraternities in the Spring of 2011. The 53 members averaged a 2.943 GPA, besting the all undergraduate men’s average of 2.801 and the all men’s Greek average of 2.901. The chapter’s GPA was its second highest semester average in the last 20 years.
