Chris Wheeler Inducted into the Order of the S.C.
Posted by The Chapter Advisor in Alumni, Honors & Awards on July 11, 2014
Chris Wheeler LSU ’01 was inducted into the Order of the S.C. at the 2014 Grand Arch Council in Phoenix, AZ. Brother Wheeler is the fifth Louisiana Alpha brother inducted into the Order. He joins previous LSU Chapter inductees, Dave Hull LSU ’66, Buster Lyons LSU ’90, Dave Normand LSU ’85 and Brian Madaci LSU ’97.
The Order of the S.C. recognizes Phi Psi’s most loyal alumni. It is a secret organization within the Fraternity whose initiates must have attended at least seven biennial conventions. Members of the Order wear a special badge of recognition and honor and hold a special dinner and initiation at each Grand Arch Council.
The Great Joy of Serving Others
Posted by The Chapter Advisor in Advisor, Alumni on July 25, 2012
Few brothers personify Phi Kappa Psi’s motto, “The Great Joy of Serving Others,” more than E. Wade Shows LSU ’69 #46. In 1991 Wade led the Louisiana Alpha house corporation’s effort to purchase the AZD house on LSU’s sorority row. Afterwards he served as the house corporation president for twenty years, helping hundreds of brothers benefit from the life-long friendships and learning that come through the fraternal living experience. Today the Phi Psi house is one of the premier fraternity properties at LSU.
Honor Wade’s example of serving others by volunteering to work with our undergraduate brothers. The LSU chapter needs the following:
- Alumni to assist with fall recruitment. (Visit our Big Tent site for dates and contact info.)
- House corporation members (vp, treasurer, secretary)
- Accountants
- Assistant fraternity education advisors
- Alumni relations advisor
- Mentoring program coordinator
- Homecoming coordinator
- Founders Day coordinator
- Scholarship advisor
- Recruitment advisor
- Public relations advisor
